I am applying for tourist visa to Canada on November 6, 2013. On Nov 8, I received a request from CIC to send my original passport to Vienna. On the same day, I sent my passport by mail from the Netherlands and it seems like it hasn't been received by the Embassy in Vienna. So I don't know where my passport is now. I called the Dutch mail service and they told me that the passport was supposed to arrive 4 days ago but they were not sure either. So either my passport is received by the visa office or it can also be lost.
If somebody has had experinces with applying Visa in Vienna, does the Visa office send you a confirmation about the passport being received by them? Or do they notify you first by email before sending the passport and the visa back to you?
