Hello,
I have some questions for the people on this forum. Here is my situation and background.
I was born and raised in Canada. In 2013, I renounced my Canadian citizenship for job purposes and received my German citizenship. I am to married to a lovely Canadian since 2010 and both my kids are Canadian passport holders. We are currently living outside Munich, Germany and have hopes of moving home very soon as we have a house in Sarnia, Ontario and both our families live there. We are flying back to Canada at the end of April and currently doing the PR paper work here in Germany and hoping to send it to the Vienna office. I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree. My wife has job offers back in Canada and use to own her own business until 2010. I am currently waiting for my FBI background check and physical appointment in Munich. Other than that, all the papers are ready to be sent off to the Vienna authorities.
My questions are:
1- I need an FBI background check. This can take up to 3 month to receive the results. Is it better to send away my application with a statement saying I will forward the results from the background check upon receiving them?
2- Are you allowed to work during the PR processing application time? Right now I am looking to apply at the College, but they are concerned over the time it will take to get accepted to work. Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions?
3- Do I create any problems by applying in Vienna, but staying in Canada for approximately three months for May-June-July? I do have a valid work contract in Germany starting August 1st, 2016 but would like to be a PR of Canada with the hopes of having a job in Ontario this summer. I have heard the processing time is faster when doing it outside of Canada.
4- Would it make sense to apply for a work permit right away so if the chances arises I could legally work in Canada this summer?
Any tips, experiences, comments or helpful information would be greatly appreciated. This whole process is very time consuming and seems very confusing at times. I am sure I will have many further questions later
Thanks everyone for the help and time.
Kyle
