Hello everyone....
there's finally an update on our case yayyyyyy
They received our application in Mississauga Oct 10, 2013 and as of Oct 3, 2014 my husbands PR application is in process!!! finally after one year...
now we're just waiting to see what's next but at least something is happening!!!

Hey everyone, new guy here. Been following the Vienna thread and thought I would post. My wife's VO is Vienna so obviously we are both keen on hearing anything positive coming from there. Just received SA today and her file is being sent to Vienna. Thanks for all the updates and look forward to joining in the long wait ahead with all of you. Patrick

But of course you may. It is valid for (weirdly) a little over 11 months. Not quite a full year for some reason.

Congrats. This means they probably extended your medical for 12 months.
My COPR was only valid for 3 weeks when I received it ;-)

I think October is one of the active months of the Vienna VO. Afterwards it will be quiet for another few until they will be awake for another month.
In other VO groups you can see progress every week, in the Vienna group about every 3 months. I'm so glad it's all over for me (hey, I've been a PR for over 5 months already ;D) but I still feel sorry for every one of you who is still in the middle of the process.

Hang in there guys, I'm with you. One day it will be all over and then you'll have to struggle with other things

You didnt mention if you had submitted the documents they requested. Check your spam folder in your email. And request gmcs notes right away. I would say contact your mp to step in but you dont live in canada.

Yes, when Vienna requested the documents we sent everything we could. Although it is quite difficult to provide documentary evidence of steps taken to move to Canada, when we don't know the time. We sent bank statements from my account to show that we are saving up in dollars, we had mutual friends living in Canada write a letter about our relationship and intent to move to Canada. Also we wrote in the application that we would be living with my Dad, so we provided ownership papers to his property etc. Although I do not fully understand why they are requesting these documents, as I am sponsoring my husband he would not receive any welfare, so he would not be a "burden" to the Canadian government anyway.
We have been together for over 7 years, married for almost two years now, so in our original application package we included loads of pictures and other evidence.
Thanks for your advice Milance, I think I will order these GMCS notes.

Does anybody know approximately how long it takes for police and medical re-dos to be processed once they are sent for the second time?

For my friend they requested it mid-Feb and he got a passport request beginning of April...usually about a month to a month and a half! Hope that helps!

No... you are requesting information on your husband's behalf, so he will have to sign the consent form. All the required forms are on the link zedtoronto provided.

Thanks Nada Do you maybe know if the consent form needs to be certified at a municipality, like does it need to be stamped? It makes more sense what I'm asking in the Serbian language, hopefully you understand what I mean.

Hi alekgalorini, hopefully we will both receive an invitation soon ! When did you apply ? Our application was received in Vienna in June 2013, so we are getting a little frustrated. But I just requested the GMCS notes this morning, hopefully they will include some useful information !

Yes, I have read a few different reasons for interview on this forum. The officer assigned to your case might have doubts or believes that there is something off with the application, so you are requested for an interview. I've also read that a certain percent of cases need to be called in for an interview so sometimes its just bad luck/good luck... not sure which ! I've also just read a post a couple days ago, someone went for their interview which lasted for about 1,5 hours and after the interview they were approved and received their PR. So I am sure being called in for an interview could mean several different things.. lets hope that in our cases its just to let us know the good news in person

New police certificate and medicals were re-submitted early this week. I will keep everyone posted on the progress. Hopefully we'll hear something soon

Veinna received our application July 2013. So we are 1 month apart. I understand the how you feel. If we don't receive a email about the date in the next few days I'm sending another email. Wishing you the best of luck! Hope this ends soon

No, it doesn't need anything. I e-mailed it to my husband, he signed it and e-mailed back the signed copy.

Landing in Canada question


Hey guys,

I am planing to land next week. Take a bus to US border (thinking Niagara falls) and go on foot

Does anybody know what kind of documents should i bring with me?
What sort of questions would i be asked?

I do have US visitors visa as well but i am reading that i do not actually need one for the purpose of landing as there is a well established process of how is this done without it.
