Hi Everybody and a Happy New Year!

I have just checked my GCMS notes and the due date on my medical is the 30th Jan 2014 (I had it done on the 10th Jan 2013) so I figure they extend it until the end of the month for everyone whose expires in the concerning month. I might be wrong though. In that case, sorry for the confusion. Wish it would mean that this nightmare is over by then ... :p It would be too good to be true! Anyways, I am not planning to do anything about it until further notice.
Hiya

My wife's med is also expiring at the same period. She done them Jan 31 2013. Last week I emailed Vienna about this and asked them to reply and let us know if we need to do it because we certainly do not wish for our case to be delayed further on top of the existing delay. (Do you thing they will hold this against me? hahahaha)
So far no answer! Wondering if this is good or not!
From what I know in case they are near finishing your case they will not ask you for re-meds and they will simply extend it!

Lets see what happens. I just have a feeling that before this month ends we'll hear some good news for someone here!

Regards

Tom

Hi guys, one question. My husband just received SA yesterday (I danced in the kitchen with a wooden spoon in my hand cause I was cooking when I heard the news). Anyway, we've been informed that our file has been forwarded to Vienna. My question is, how long would it take for the file to reach Vienna, and will I get AOR from them once they receive it?
Give it a month.
Don't expect an AOR from Vienna. My wife received SA on October 10th 2013 and we haven't received a word from Vienna so far. That is why we requested GCMS notes a week ago. We don't think that the notes will show any progress but we wanted to make sure Vienna received our application and that my email address was put into their system correctly.

Good morning. I wanted to post to good news from Vienna.
I haven't posted anything for a while but have read the comments regularly. I can identify with each of you the frustration that this process can bring. Just for background purposes I will tell you about our situation. I am sponsoring my husband from the Czech Republic. Our app went in December 4 2012. Vienna sent an AOR on January 28 2013. Vienna sent a doc request on March 27 2013. That was the last we heard from them until yesterday. We received an email January 9 2014 asking for the payment of the Right to Permanent Residence fee, an updated police certificate from Czech Republic, and an UPDATED Schedule A form( this will be the third time we have done this form!!). With saying all this, my husbands medical expired August 2013, so we sent in an updated one in September 2013. We didn't want to wait to be asked for it.
So how long will it take from here?? Who knows. But we are excited to hear something, actually anything, finally from Vienna!! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!
Just an FYI, my husband has been here visiting me in Toronto for the holidays so we received the good news together, which was nice. Canada has allowed him a 1 month visit. That's it. When he arrived, the agent said he was close to a decision being made so that was the longest he could stay. They told him he could apply for an extension but it would probably be turned down. I know that there were some people on the this forum asking about visiting, so this is what happened to us. Could be different for others based on their situation.
Vienna is alive, SLOW, but alive!! I hope this brings some hope to you all!

Have you tried sending a case specific inquiry to Vienna to ask them if they received your application?

I read on this forum that when ECAS is updated with "Medical results have been received" means that your file arrived at the VO.

A November 2013 applicant just got their visa today. 2 months and 6 days in total, going through Colombo VO which is at 15 months processing time at the moment.

How is this possible?

Honestly I don't really care what other offices are doing. Just makes me more frustrated if I do.

That's my point exactly. A VO listed at 15 months waiting time gives a visa within 2 months and Vienna listed at 13 months is sleeping on their asses. Why the discrepancy? Why those extremes? CIC needs to get their act together.

To avoid additional frustration try not to pay too much attention to other offices. Grass is always greener on the other side.

Ok as for the applicant who got his PR in 2 months that's extra ordinary.even for the fastest VO. Paris has the reputation and in fact it processes in less than 5 months. This Colombo thing was just a freak case :)

Keep in mind that the posted processing time is just the time it takes to process 80% of all applications. This does not mean that all applications take that long. Some might even take much much longer than the posted time if it is a complicated case.

No we haven't sent a CSI. We thought it is better to not occupy Vienna with emails when they could actually work on cases instead of answering our questions. We thought gcms note will be collected somewhere else and therefore Vienna would not be occupied without a good reason ;)

It's a really good new, thanks to share with us, It gives more hope. :) From your timeline I guess there was only 2 weeks difference that me and my hubby sent our application to the Immigration and also 2 weeks difference when Vienna recieved it. I hope the answer will take only 2 weeks too, so next month I could finally sleep sometimes. :)

I'm tired of this nightmare...

God bless all of us
