Not sure what style they are but paper clips are ok and if these clips fall into same pool should be ok.

We used the big heavy black paperclips...

I put my application in tight envelope in order without any clips.

We used small paper clips for rach set of forms and then this entire bunch was held together with a big black butterfly (more like elephant) paper clip.

Did the same for supporting documents.

Also had a lot of florescent colored labels that dont leave a mark when removed.

I have also added a title page to each form which states the name of the application and what supporting documents are included (if any)

While there is no harm in adding a title page it immediately gets put aside. CIC puts it all into an order that you would not recognize. If you want to go ahead but not if it takes a lot of work or you think it helps.

It also helps me keep organized. This isn't something that will cause my app to be returned is it?

no. they just will throw it out if they deem it unnecessary.
