Jitu Officially Original Education Loan can never be given for Diploma/Certificate courses !!! A loan for education and Education Loan are two diff things !! Edu Loan has Moratorium period whereas any loan taken for study purpose will start charging interest from day 1 !!!

Dear Deepak, I have more than seven years of experience in financial services where I have dealt with all banking credit products, In brief I can just say that if you wish to deal in any product approach the right deptt and you will find right perspective over loans and services bank sell. In banks we have underwriting deptt and we design products on basis of special memorandum of risk and interest factor, the loans are customized to target specific needs. Honestly I have never heard that loans are limitized to degree courses. it is dependent on loan issuer authority if he want to issue he can issue,

I live in toronto and completed one year certificate course from George Brown, my cousin completed from Mohawk 8 months and his friend from Sheridian 1years all are certificate courses and we got our loan from OBC, Faridabad, Haryana. it was education loan and we paid interest of 13% with flexibility of paying principal amount after completion of course and the interest charge since day 1 of disbursement.

I am in Toronto, as you can see I completed course in 2010 I have worked One year on PGWP with a Bank in Toronto. Now I filed my PR and waiting.

The course is good and as it has Co-op it will help you in job too, college is one of the best in Canada but depends on candidate too how well they blend in to education system and work hard for an Aim which is far more productive that just enjoying fun filled life in Canada.

lot of people when came new waste time in masti and by the time finished realize the time they lost was precious.

Its been a week now. OBC Bank is still processing my details to let me know if they can give me loan or not. They told me they will check if the course and college is approved by them.
I am going for Ontario Graduate Certificate Prgm (PG Certificate-Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion) at Centennial College. I will be taking a loan against FD. Will they Grant me the loan? Is PG cert Prgm in their list?
My friend also got a loan sanctioned from OBC but from a different Branch. But he said he has to check the details and if the course is not approved in their list he cannot challenge why my friend got the education loan.. What do i do?? Should i simultaneously try at another bank?
What do you think r the chances for me to get the loan?

Sam this is actually Bullshit "we'll check if this course if approved" where they will check ??? Loan is a dicretionary thing and Branch Manager has the right to give u the loan and as u mentioned this is against FD, there should be absolutely no delay in ur process, loan against FD can be processed in a single day !!! ask the Manager clearly whether hez interested in givin the loan and stop wasting ur time !!!!

I guess Deepak has answered to your query in well clear manner. I got it done in same way, I told the manager that every bank is providing loan on this course as this course was introduced in Education fair where all banks are advertising their loan in "India habitat Center" Lodhi road, few of my friends whom you met their already got it approved from branches near their house, so I will appreciate if you can provide me with clear picture of loan authority in your branch otherwise other OBC branches who granted such loans are not much far from my reach, I have my account in this branch and it is near to my house otherwise if you are facing much trouble please say clearly I will apply in other branches.

I treated is this way and got it approved in 15days, I feel sorry for you because system in India is like this and we are dependent of irresponsible and inefficient people mobilizing this system.

Keep trying in other branches where you can find reference to Br. Manager, if you find no way, you can contact OBC Manager in Faridabad (N.I.T) Branch we have Commercial and personal accounts there for 15-20 years I can try adding reference of my father.
