Hello,
My one year IEC expires April 30, 2017. I'm submitting my BC PNP application on Monday. I should get the nomination before my IEC expires, but I'll need to stop working either way May 1. I know there are no extensions to IEC visas , so I'll change to visitor status after expiry. But I'm also wondering if I can get any document from BC PNP or any authority that would allow me to keep working while I'm waiting for my work permit? I have offer of employment and I don't want to leave my job in such busy time (I work in hospitality). Also, my second question concerns the "restriction on employment" clause that CIC introduced recently. Does the fact that I have job offer from my employer mean that I'll get that restriction and, as a result, won't be able to apply for OBWP? I'm really stressed out about this.
Thank you so much for any suggestions and replies.

Ummm Idk anything about IEC. But if you successfully got nomination, and 'restriction on employment': YES. It means you can only get Closed Work Permit.

If it say NO, then you can apply for BOWP. However, you need to have your AoR of your PR application to qualify for bowp.

Hi I have faced this problem before,I had 3 Europeans who were running out of time on their IEC last year. You do realize that nomination by BC PNP gets you a letter of support for IRCC or CBSA to issue you a LMIA exempt work permit that is closed. You can then flagpole to get your closed work permit. In the meantime in all 3 cases We applied for a paper work permit extension to get 3 months of implied status. This buys time in case you still do not have your nomination yet.All three btw got their nominations and their work permits and are waiting for their PR Easy Peasy

Thank you very much for both replies. BCguy, you made me start hoping again :) I have a few questions regarding your reply.
1. I read somewhere that IEC can't give you implied status cause it's a different type of visa and therefore and exception.
2. With the implied status you can't work, right? Just want to double check because the processing time is what keeps me up at nights. Not earning any money for a few months is not an option for me :(
3. If I understand correctly, I need to wait for my nomination, and then once I get it I need to send the support letter to IRCC, and then they issue the work permit? Do you know by any chance the wait time for the issuance of the work permit?

Thank you so much in advance!

Also, it says everywhere that my work permit (in my case IEC) needs to be valid through the process of application for work permit. If my IEC expires April 30 and I'm on an implied status after that, am I still eligible?

Thank you!

5 nominations obtained in 2016,One Czech,One Russian,,2 Ukrainians, and one Korean. All Nominated and PR in process in Sydney CIO.All said to CBSA when they flagpolled that they applied to get implied status,Flagpolling is not in the IRCC website either but done regularly. We learn this in temporary resident module of the Immigration consultant course .PM ,You are good :D

Thank you BCguy!!!
My main problem is processing times first on my nomination and then until IRCC issues the work permit so that i can flagpole (it says 41 days). My employer said that if i'm not able to work once my visa expires, he'll have to find a new person and there's no guarantee I'll have full time job when i finally get my work permit. That's why I'm curious if it's illegal to work on implied status cause I don't want to do anything that could jeopardize my PR. So if all 5 people from your side worked like you said, I understand it's ok to work?

P.S. Lucky guys they had a mentor like you !

Thank you for your help!
