But as u did Phd from Canada so i guess u wud also hv been eligible for the Phd stream cap right ..

As that 500 applications were above the 1000 Cap of 4011.

The requirement was : Have completed a PhD in Canada, or have completed two years of study in Canada towards a PhD, in both cases at a recognized institution. There is a cap of 500 in place for this stream.

So are you sure that the consultant applying on your behalf applied under 4011 and not the Phd stream ..

Please excuse for inquiring so much .. its just that yours is a unique case and all of us 4011's weren't expecting a jump of 2 months of applicants ..

and we are really worried as there has been no charging on 4011 since around Mid October ..

and if your case is filed under 4011 then it gives all of us that applied between Mid October and Mid Dec a ray of hope .. as we feel your case got processed quickly as u are a Phd from Canada but that means that the NOC is also not capped and there is only a time gap in the processing of our apps .. and eventually our apps will be charged and processed ..

no so, because there are also applicants whose file reached cic on 31st december,
my file reached cic on 24th december and was sent from india on 18th december,
it appears very tricky to find out the reason for fast processing, i also enquired my consultant whose assumes that my file would have been treated or mis- understood as phd stream, i am really confused because i did my phd in 2011 from mcgill university.
i dont have any clue for what is going on with my file, but i have very well confirmed with my bank that my DD had been encashed and processed via royal bank of canada and voucher very well shows this.

In NOC 1123 .. there has been a jump from around Oct 21st to Nov 21st ... Same like Vinisha09's case in 4011 ..

On a 1123 related forum .. this is mentioned ..

"For those of you wondering what may have happened with applications between Oct 21st and Nov 20th, the following link may bring some piece of answer. Just a heads up: there are 996 apps from this period pending a second review in the Vegreville Case Processing Centre in Alberta (mine included) Cry as CIC are trying to correct some mistakes made by non-trained part-time workers in an early stage of the process. If you guys remember .. the last update for 4011 stated 483 Files counted towards the 1000 Cap and 330 Files awaiting Ministerial Instructions/ Review ..

Congrats, as soon as I came to know about the error CIC made and processed your application so soon, I kept my fingers crossed and requested my bank to provide me status of the DD, they will do it by Monday.
Hopefully I get such an opportunity too, I am December 17th Applicant.

So i guess Files of 4011/ 1123 are awaiting Ministerial Instructions/ Review ..

I am also a 4011 applicant whose file was received by November 13th. My understanding is that due to the large amount of awaiting files for this category, CIC plans to go through them all at once. This might be the reason that no 4011 application was charged since a very long time ago. I believe they are going category by category and just by coincident, our category is left behind and hopefully will be dealt with later.
