Actually, I am studying in a two year + co-op diploma program and is interested in getting a post-graduate work permit after I finish my program, but I have some serious confusions regarding full-time condition.

1) First confusion is that in a particular semester I took 3 courses (9 credits in total making it full time) and I finished my very first semester Spring 2016 FULL-TIME, got my grades and started the next semester Summer 2016. But right in the middle of the next semester, I got an email from my faculty dean who offered me (along with many other students) in a particular to withdrew from one particular course that we took in Spring 2016. I took benefit of that opportunity as my grades were not good and withdrew from one of the courses although I had already finished the course and whole semester. Later on, I realized that this thing resulted in making my 9 credits from that particular semester to be 6 credits as 3 credits were later on withdrawn. Now I am worried that will CIC count this Spring 2016 term as a part-time and will make me ineligible for a post graduate work permit even though I physically and intentionally was a full-time student (9 credits) for the whole semester, but later after finishing the semester and due to dean's special offer of withdrawing from the previous semester course, my courses became 6 credits (part-time)?

2) Second confusion is that my University doesn't offer courses every semester so let's say I completed quite many courses full-time, and later on at a particular time I wasn't able to find the next courses to register because it's not offered this semester and I have no choice to wait for the next semester because I can't take any other course as I have already completed them and is only stuck in few courses which, unfortunately, aren't offered this semester. As a result, there is a gap of one or more semester in between. Will CIC understand this as it is not my fault and NOT consider me a part-time student and ineligible for post graduate work permit?

I would really appreciate if you can help me as I am seriously worried. Thanks a million!

Let's get this straight ,

Firstly , Summer( May-Aug ) is not considered an academic session. You can either be part time and work full time or study full time and work part time. So, If you took some courses in thr summer , It is not a problem. I'm sure about this in Undergraduate degrees but not sure about Masters or diploma

Secondly , Never ever be a part time student during an academic session , It'll make you ineligible for PGWP.

Academic session: Sept-Apr.
