If I am a 18 year old Highschool student, who's caregiver/guardian is currently a working temporary resident in canada would I still require a permit?
Sorry I am a little confused.

Note that the person the child is accompanying must be their parent (not just a caregiver / legal guardian).

Also note that whether at 18 year old is a minor depends on the province. In some provinces you must be under 18 to be considered a minor - in which case someone 18 or older would need a study permit:
