Hello,
I'm fairly new on here. I like to know if anyone here is sponsoring wife, husband, family or anyone from Venezuela? Love to hear your side of the story.

Since the Embassy of Canada office is closed in Caracas, Venezuela and everything is being directed to Mexico City Embassy. How long does one sponsorship application usually take in this case? and with the countries current issues and problem with governments. Will this cost more delays if I want to sponsor my future wife? And if you can explain some procedures you guys took to get this all finished.

Thank you.

Regarding to your question, all the cases as other countrys are been procesed in mexico as in the case of Venezuela,
theres no delays, is like any other country, after they make the procedures in canada for the esponsor
the file goes to mexico, in 80 percent of the cases are taking between 8 to 9 months, thats in the case
is straight,

Hello, so great news. I'm finally married to my love. After seven weeks in Peru and Argentina, we did the marriage in Argentina and I have all the paperwork and stamped by the Argentinian officials. The process is easy but just a lot of running around Buenos Aires. Need to get passports, hotel notarized and medical exam all approved by the hospital.

Now the next step is sponsoring my wife to Ontario, Canada. So sad we both had to go our separate ways on our last night. A lot of tears, hugs and kisses. The next step is to set a plan on when to start sponsorship application.

She is Venezuelan living in Margarita Island and I'm Canadian living in Ottawa. I had to leave my job that was paying me a little over minimum wage. As for 2016 my current income is 11K. Which doesn't look good for sponsoring I believe. I was told by my other friend that sponsored her wife from Lebanon to Canada that it doesn't matter how much you make. As long as I prove to CIC, I'm financially able to support us together without depending on Canada Benefits.

I also haven't met the family member of my wife and don't have pictures with them. Would that be an issue proving our marriage is genuine? The reason for this is cause Venezuela is so dangerous for me to travel. Would this be an issue for proving that my marriage is genuine?

We have a lot of pictures together, WhatsApp messages and few Facebook messages and not much gmail conversations. Kept every single travel documents, hotel and apartment receipts. Would these help the case?

I have searched CanadaVISA forums and others mention it can take 25 months in south america region for everything to be %100 completed. Would that be the case for us?

It's hard to look for work in Venezuela now but my wife is planning to take French classes. With her learning French, and already knowing English and Spanish. Would this be a plus for the application? Or doesn't matter?

Hoping to get some clear answers for these concerns.

Thank you.

Hey Calvinw06 Congratulations on your wedding.
My VO was Bogota but I could answer some of your questions:

"Would this be an issue for proving that my marriage is genuine?"
Explain to them why haven't you met her family, I guess you've establish some type of relationship with them maybe you've texted them, just to prove them that even if you haven't met them you have had some contact before.

"Would these help the case?"
Try to include "quality" evidence to support your case. Chat logs, phone call records, flight tickets, pictures, social media messages and pictures.

"Would that be the case for us?"
I don't know how long does MEXICO VO takes, you should look for this information in other forums.
As I stated before my VO was Bogota and our case was completed in 7 months in total.

"With her learning French, and already knowing English and Spanish. Would this be a plus for the application?"
I've heard that it is a plus for the applicant to know either English or French.

Best of luck in everything!
