Hi,
I'm relocating to Calgary in June and I plan to drive my Jeep across the border. I will be in Canada on a 3 year work permit. If the job is going well I plan to extend my stay beyond 3 years.
I am confused on what is required to bring my Jeep to Canada. I am moving from Houston and I'm hoping to not have any issues at the border after driving that distance.
My questions are:
1. What is considered as a lift? My Jeep has a dealer installed 2 inch lift with 35 inch tires. I keep reading that lifts are not allowed but when I go to Calgary I see plenty of pickups and Jeeps lifted.
2. since I am starting on a 3 year work permit, i hear that my vehicle won't be subjected to those rules during the temporary stay. If that is the case, will I run into any issues when I get the Jeep inspected for a license and to obtain insurance?
Any help or advice I can get would be great.
Thanks in advance
