I used to live in Seattle for 7 years as a foreign stduent.

I had car in Seattle and it's still there.

now I'm in Canada, Vancouver

I need to bring my car from Seattle and my friend in US said he will drive my car to the US border.

I need to get stamp off on my original title and I have be there. Do I need US visa to go to office? because office is in US territory right?..

I tried to google it so many times, but I couldn't find any good answers yet.

do you guys have any experience like this?

Very tricky. People normally drive their cars in or have it shipped. You can drive to the US border, they will give you a piece of paper saying that you have not actually entered the US, and use it to return to Canada. The office that processes imports/exports is within the CBA area, but will they allow you to actually get the process done this way? You should contact the CBA at the border crossing and see if you can get hold of someone there.

Thank you CanV for reply :)

I know.. it is tricky.

To get Visa, I have to make appointment for interview and it takes time longer than I expected..

so..

How do I contact CBA?

CBA stands for Canadian Bar Association?.. is this right?

Sorry not sure why I was saying CBA, I meant CBP, US Customs and Border Protection, they are the ones that you deal with at the border.

Thank you CanV

do you know that my friend can stamp off on my original title instead of me?

is it possible?? because I talk to Custom Brokers and they said my friend can stamp off..

I thought that owner must be at the US border.

Like I said, your case is very unique. However, you should mail your friend a certified (by a Canadian notary) special power of attorney for this purpose. Mention exactly what you are authorizing him/her to do.

call the us border the car will be exported through. cbsa is pretty easy to get in touch with, and there's probably a separate number for vehicle export. they will tell you if the owner needs to be the one to present the title and ITN#.
