Is it possible to extend your study permit and temporary resident visa in the same application? If so, what are the fees for this? Is it best to do it online?

I have done some research and it is not clear specially when it come to the fees.

I think there is no extra fees when you apply for TRV along with your study permit otherwise its $100 for TRV if you apply after you get your study permit.

You should apply online and fill out application for TRV at the same time.

Hello!

I am a professional UX Designer and my wife is a Digital Marketing Executive, she wants to pursue for post-grad diploma from Langara college, Vancouver, BC.

Below are her academic qualifications:

SSC: 82% in the year 2003
HSC: 67% in the year 2005
Bsc IT (3 years graduation): 72% in the year 2008
Msc IT (2 years): 64% in the year 2010

From 2010 until now she is working fulltime, I did an inquiry about the course and dropped them an email and got a reply saying she is perfect eligible for the course and planning for Sept 2016 intake just wanted to know like would there be any chances of visa rejection? and as the duration of course is for 2 years then can I accompany along with her on an open work permit for 2 years?

It would be really helpful if I you guys can assist me on this.

I look forward to your replies.

Cheers!

Hello everyone
I need advice from seniors and who had gone through the same situation
I am in india now,my visa (TRV) is issued on 2 nov 2015 with validity until 30 nov 2017.
But due to some medical reasons i am not able to start my classes in this january 2016 intake so i have deferred my course to september 2016 and i received a new LOA (deferral letter) from my college for september intake. On my POE (port of entry) introduction letter there is no entry date mentioned just the validity date is written i.e. 30 nov 2017.There is an line written that you must reach canada by dd/mm/yyyy not any exact date is written.
So my question is that can i go to canada in june 2016 with this visa because both TRV and POE introduction letter is valid till november 2017

Hello,
I am currently working as an IT Manager and Digital Marketing Specialist in a small firm for 6 months and now I might get another job as Data Engineer. So Can I file my PR using split experience of 1 year.
So I will be having 6 months of IT Manager and Digital Marketing Specialist experience
And 6 months of Data Engineer experience.
So overall it would be 1 year. Is it allowed to do this ?
Or I have to complete 1 year at my new job?

Please do let me know.

Thanks

You can use both. You can post your queries in Express Entry related threads.

Hi,

I have a query here is PNP applicable for students who have completed their MBA from canada. I am planing to do MBA with VIU, the dual degree program which has PGWP upto 3 years. I have limited options as I have only 15 years of education hence selected VIU.

I have hear about saskatchewan PNP program for graudates or student from canada.

Is it possible to apply for PNP in any province in canada after PGWP is about to expire ?
Does PNP really helps in getting PR ?
How realistic is it to get visa extenstion after your PGWP has expired and you have a job ?

Thank you in advance for your reply !!! :) :)

Hey Baljot, before we get on with your question, would you be able to answer a few question I have:

1. What is your reason behind trying to come to Canada from Australia?
2. Which university did you attend in Australia and what was your GPA in the first year?
3. What was your IELTS score when you went to Australia?
4. Are you trying to start a fresh degree in Canada, if yes, which degree?, or trying to get your credits from first year engineering transferred to a Canadian university?

I hope you don't mind answering these and I am sure this would help everyone help you better.

Hi

Every province in Canada has it's own Provincial Nominee Program. As a general rule of thumb, always try to study in the province you are aiming to get the nomination from. Why I say this?! Because, rules of PNPs change very very very often and you don't want to be studying in one province and then move to another one to get your nomination. If you are applying for Vancouver Island University, try and stick with British Columbia's PNP. I do not know the exact rules of BCPNP but you can check the website for exact rules as to what they have to offer International students graduating from BC universities. Go to the website of each province you are interested in and see who has the best options for international students and also the program that you like.

Now to answer your question that if Nomination really helps with the PR. One word answer would be YES. A very big yes in fact. Express entry PR applications usually need a score of at least 470+ to get the invitation to apply for PR. Nomination alone gives you 600 points. It's like scoring a 36 runs in an over, if you know what I mean lol! Also, PNP is not the only option you have for PR, CEC is another useful one and if you get a 3 year PGWP, you will qualify for that one considering you will have a bachelors and a masters degree. However, nothing works out as easily as PNP if you find a good suitable program and a good province. Rest is up to your research now. I hope this helps you and let me know if you have any more questions or any confusions. Good luck! :)
