Choose the province where you will be most likely be approved to register and eventually work as an RN.

Weather in Vancouver is better than Ontario but the cost of houses is more expensive in Vancouver, just some of the many things you need to take into consideration.

Hi,
Check this bellow site which has the information for Nurse:

thanks carribRN. If i may ask, have you register already? where? my only problem now is that my ielts just turned 1 year last july 4, 2010. i dont want to take it again so i think the best option now is to wait for my saskatchewan assessment, if im eligible or not, then maybe later on will apply for endorsement... what dio you think?

Yes, I have. I did mine with CNO.

As for your IELTS, that's too bad. Don't you want to take it again? You just need the general module anyways if you are applying in Ontario.

The thing with endorsement in Canada is, from what I've heard, is not as easy as compared to endorsement in the US. I think you need to actually work for sometime in the province where you initially registered before you can have your license endorsed in another province with less hassle since you will already have your Canadian nursing experience by then. Otherwise, if you're going to do the endorsement outright, the province where you would like your registration to be endorsed might assess your paper from the scratch and the eligibility you got from your initial Board might just be forsaken.

This is what I have been told but of course you can always verify this.

hmm.. that can be an option but for now i would rather use my time and money (for the exam) for shopping. I am not sure about CNO if the wont require me the bridging program, anyway. It wont be a problem if ill be required to work in SK for a period of time before endorsement :)

As for your CNO application, did they require you to take the bridging program? how long did you wait from application to getting your eligibility for exam/request of bridging program?

No bridging for me. I did the competency assessment table though. I have my US license and I am currently working in a British overseas territory, the experience I used to back up my application. Took the whole process about 11months, with a few months delay which I can say was a fault on my part.

so when do you plan to land and take your CRNE?

i am like 80% sure ill be taking the bridging program so ill just have to wait for my SK eligibility. hmm, do you also happen to know anyone trying to register for saskatchewan? sent my application oct 2009 and no email from them yet...

Im landing in November. Will just stay there for 1 week. I'll come back end of January though for a couple of weeks vacation and to take the CRNE in Feb 2. :) Don't know anyone who's applying in SK, its not a very common area of interest to new comers to tell you honestly as the weather there can really be harsh. But you do what you must do to achieve your dream of becoming a Canadian Rn. Cheers!

my wife and I are registred nurse from Iran working in kuwait, we are waiting to be passport requested since we sent our medical and landing fee in september 2010, meanwhile we sent our application to CNO and awaiting the results.
I ve studied 2 years in anesthesia then bridged to nursing in Iran all and all four years of academic education and obtained BS in nursing.
my wife studied four years nursing too.how likely we will be give the option to go for bridge or go a head for Exam directly,
how long it will take to receive a assment letter from CNO,
is it wise to deley landing to clear the CNO assessment first, just to save time and money in canada?
tnx

Re: VANCOUVER vs TORONTO for Nurses,CI (registration, survival jobs &cost of liv

Hi! i am a LPN and landed in Vancouver Oct. 14. i submitted a lot of resumes but no response. i called a facility in Alberta and within a week, i was offered a job. Try to apply prior to landing so u won' t have to spend a lot of money moving. Another thing I remember is u're the one who will live in Surrey right? i live in Surrey and honestly don't like it very much. There are a lot of car theft and breaking and entering. In our apartmnet complex alone, there were 4 cars that were broken into and 2 apartments as well and that was only in 1 week.
