What's your timeline?
Applied on Aug 1, did the test on Sept 23 and it got approved on Oct 1, got invited for an in person interview on Dec 13 and the interview was yesterday Jan 7. The background and test are marked completed. The rest is in process.
Congrats! It's great to see someone finally getting to the finish lineJust an update here that on April 17, I finally got the email invitation for the oath ceremony which is scheduled for May 2. YAAAY
Single applicant: I applied on Aug 1, 2024, AOR was received on Aug 23, 2024, citizenship test email was sent towards mid Sept and it was marked completed on Oct 1, 2024. I had an in person interview on Jan 7, 2025, and finally the oath email came on April 17, 2025 for May 2, 2025 ceremony in Vancouver office (in person).
It was quite tiring and stressful journey because I've been in Canada on various kind of Visas since 2013! So you can imagine how hard it was to wait just 8 months for the citizenship!
What I think had helped was that I made a phone call to IRCC when the portal was down which was on April 8, 2025. I kept the conversation light and only asked if there's a way to expedite since I had no update since Jan 7, 2025. Maybe the call nodge the application, mayne not but I'd like to think it did.
This group was very helpful in so many different way and I'm happy I found it.
I wish everyone best of luck in your journey and sending positive vibes your way. Good days will come
Now that the federal elections are done, you may have a new MP in your riding. I'd go to the winning candidate's website and see if there's any info there about contacting their office.Hi Everyone!
Do you have any idea how long it takes for the Vancouver office these days to schedule an oath? I am getting very impatient for many reasons! I will enter my 3rd year of waiting in a few days and it is getting under my skin
Everything was completed as of March 05. And yes I called them, contacted my MP, etc. Nothing helped.
19 months of Security clearance wasn't enough apparently lol
Thank you for the information! Now that the federal elections are done, you may have a new MP in your riding. I'd go to the winning candidate's website and see if there's any info there about contacting their office.
And congrats on getting everything done other than Oath. I wish I can say the same....
Wifey's got an Oath date so Vancouver office is moving.
