CIC has been upgrading their application processing systems, so that they can make everything paperless. This is a gradual process, eventually all communication sent to applicants will be on e-mail.
I received my application of receipt (AOR) also via e-mail. However the test invite was regular mail.
The thing is that it does not matter how the communication arrives, as long as you get it!
