We are from India. We got our PR and is planning to come on Feb 23rd. Do you think we can find a house there from here and if so what are the formalities.

We don't have any friends or relatives there. How much do you think it costs for 1 BHK including all utilities in town.

You can search sites like Kijiji for free for housing. AirBnB is a good choice for short term housing until you figure out where you want to be. Depending on where you plan to settle the local city websites can offer information on housing/services. Government of Canada runs welcome programs in most major cities to help you get established as well.

For housing, you will need first and last months rent usually, and most likely a lease for 6 months to a year. Check with the provincial landlord/tenant agency to get the details of what is required.

The options are extensive depending on what you want and where you want to live. May I ask how many people are in your family? What is your budget? What would you prefer - house or apartment? Do you need to be close to schools, downtown?
