Hello everyone,

I am interested in pursuing higher studies in Environment & Sustainability.

I have over six years of experience in the field of Sustainability, but my academics are not that great. Most of the elite or even good universities in Canada ask for strong academic history. Therefore my educational consultant suggestd that I either enrol in Masters in Sustainable Leisure Management at Vancouver National University or Masters in Environmental Practice at Thomson River University.

I have been doing some research and obviously the University ranking is not that great. However, I am ok with that, but what I am more concerned about is getting a job after completion of the course.

Would anyone here have any idea about the job opportunities in Leisure management, Environment and Sustainability in British Colombia or even in other regions in Canada? Especially for international graduates?

Would appreciate any other advice.

Many thanks
Ash

1. Well neither of them are on Vancouver Island
2. You will not get an off-campus work permit nor PGWP if graduate from National University. You can at TRU

Hi PMM,

The masters in art in sustainable leisure management mentioned by ash84 is conducted at Vancouver island university. And also they have a 14 month MBA.

I too am interested in either one of them. But I am worried after reading your reply if a person study at Vancouver island uni are they unable apply for pgwp once they complete their course of study? Or. Is there a vancouver national uni as well? Which from your message I gather is not a place where if a person studies could apply for post graduate work permit?

Thank you
Nemmon

Vancouver Island University and Vancouver National University are two different schools, your original post asked about Vancouver National.

Hi,

Thank you for the info. By any chance do you know anything about the Master of Arts in sustainable leisure management programme. I am worried and I need an opinion of some seniors before I make a decision. I am concerned because the MBA from Vancouver island is not recognized comparing with other MBA from universities. So I am worried if this Master of Arts in sustainable leisure management too will be considered in the the category.

Pls share your thoughts. I need to make this decision soon.

Thank you
