Just came back, I'm officially Canadian! My 3rd citizenship btw :D

The ceremony was pretty short (1h40min from start to end), 76 new citizens from 20 countries were sworn in.

I will try to contribute to this thread as often as I can for sure, best of luck to all of you Vancouverites! :)

The agent checked my landing document and returned it to me, and took away the PR card.

Yet I saw people getting asked to show pieces of ID.

Anyway bring everything listed on the checklist (passports, 2 pieces of ID, PR card, landing docs) to stay on the safe side.

On the request for the landing document, they write "all original documents you submitted with your application". This is odd writing as it implies even birth certificates, children' school records, etc!!!

I misplaced my original expired passport and original certificate of residency during my last move. I only showed them the photocopy during the test. It was in one of those un-open boxes in the storage at the end :)
hey, Vitelle

congrates you finally got it!

i have a little questions about " your expired passport". do they need all the passport records since you landed?

I have lost my original one, that was about 15 yrs before, I can show the passports including near ten years, you think is that alright?

Thank you very much hamedsilent. The document is very comprehensive; it seems that they are speeding up the process.

I will be eligible to apply in May 2015, and I was worrying about the new citizenship rules, which says that an applicant must stay in Canada for 4 years after getting PR. Apparently, CIC is going to implement the new citizenship rules in the second half of 2015, so it would be implemented on July 1st, 2015.
