I feel for ya. I sent my application about the same time as you but mine didn't even get transferred til April 15th, not sure why. Hope we both get test notices soon.

Unfortunately, there is no consistency on this, every one case is different..... you will get yours soon. fingers crossed

Totally inconsistent, I applied early july 2013 and still waiting....

It's consistent with 78-80% of the cases, but it's not exact science. Have you called CIC and what did they say? You may also want to go in person to your local office in case your file has been transferred there.

last i heard was that my file was ready at the local office and awaiting a test date...that was a month ago! i will call again, not sure if walking to there office is a good idea, i don't want to be blacklisted! :o

Hi All,

I have witnessed the oath taking ceremony today at Steveston Festival Community Centre.

I was there for the celebration of Canada day, but was happy to witness the oath taking. It was emotional :)

I saw Mayor Malcom Brodie, MP Kerry Lynne Findlay and MLA John Yap :)

HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYONE :)

Oh back to wok tomorrow.. lol..

Curious: what's the rough waiting time for Vancouver from application submission to LOT (local office transfer)? And upon LOT, is the processing rather smooth...? I am aware there are three offices in the Greater Van area.

Hi

Did anyone who has given Test on April 10th or later have received citizenship oath dates ? i have given my citizenship test on April 10th and still i didn't hear anything about the oath date till now.

@ Empirical-Scientist. Based on my own personal observation. If it took a while for CPC Sidney to transfer it to your Local office it takes around over 6-7 months before you get a test invite. If the tranfer from CPC Sidney to local office was smooth (that means an average time to transfer would be around 2-4 months) It usually takes roughly 4 to 5 months before you get a test invite. From testing to oath would be an average of 2 1/4 months to 3 months. This is based on 70% of those people who submitted. Cheers!

just expect 1 yr, since it looks like CIC has speed up after they received more funding and charging higher fees

I have just had my test this morning. The whole session took nearly three hours. The test is half an hour, however you can finish it within a few minutes. I got 19 out 20. The test is easy and one does not need to feel stressed about it.

Most of the waiting was on the interview. During the interview, the interviewer could read the stamps that are on my first language, and she did not need to look at the translation! However, she said it is good that I brought the translation for the judges! She checked all the stamps against my travel history listed on my residence calculation sheet. I have only 4 dates on my residence calculation sheet (two for each travel). She could not verify one date since my passport did not have a stamp for entering Malaysia. I told her that my passport was not stamped since I had an employment pass there. I had a copy of my flight ticket (and not the boarding pass) for that trip with me, and I showed it to her and she asked me if she can keep it with my file. She marked three dates as checked and one is not marked and she attached the flight ticket to it. Other than the passport checking, she asked me about my current job (different than the one that I had on my application) and she wrote it down. She did not want to see my T4s.

I hope things get smooth.

All the best for everyone here :)
