You do need a Canadian passport to fly back to Canada.
Maybe you can get a passport in the other country at the embassy????

I went to passport Canada the day after taking oath. I did see the ECAS status being 'Complete' before heading to Passport Canada office.
Interestingly at the oath ceremony, the judge's assistant did mention that I should wait for 1 business day before applying a passport, while the IRCC website suggests 2 business days.

Anyways, I applied for an express pickup to meet my travel plan.

Always forget to post in here. Took test in Surrey Wed morning for 8:30am appointment. Wrote a little more detail in the Nov applicant thread but 19/20, first in my group of people done so first to get interviewed, mostly just focused on ID and passport matching absence calendar then the officer said he reviewed my file and it looks good so I should receive the oath within 2-3 months. I'm still In Process on eCas today but by the looks of other Surrey Oct/ Nov applicants it takes a few weeks to change to DM. I'm still crossing my fingers to be a citizen before my birthday at the end of August.

Status updated to DM this morning. Countdown is on for the oath now!

Congratulations ! I think we are same test time and same location (surrey), my status still is IP.:( Who’s your officer? a man or woman?

Hi guys, I took my test on May 2nd in Surrey. My online application still says "in process". My wife took it on the same day and her online application says "decision made" although received no letter yet.

Is it normal to not have a decision made within nearly 2 months in Surrey? I haven't heard anything from the cic in the meantime so presume all is good.

Hey Friends!

I became a citizen on July 1st. Thanks you all for your help!

Here's my full time timeline:

Starting Office - Mississauga, then Vancouver because I relocated for work.

App Sent - May 19, 2017
AOR - May 23, 2017
In Process (ECAS) - July 11, 2017

I moved to Vancouver at the end of July and updated my address.

Asked for fingerprints - September, 2017.

Test Invite - April 4, 2018 - Test was set for April 19, but I was coincidentally in Ontario visiting my parents, so they postponed the first test.

Test Invite 2 - April 10, 2018.
Test - May 10, 2018.
Decision Made ECAS - May 11, 2018.
Oath - July 1, 2018.

Good luck, everyone!

Just an FYI that I called the branch on this date and they confirmed that all is in order and expect an invite to take the oath in a few weeks. I checked the online status today and it now says "Decision Made." :)

Guys, Vancouver applicant here. I applied in October and did my test on March 8th and passed it. My application is still in process and no DM yet. Anybody in the same situation from Vancouver ?

My parents are in the same boat. Applied early November, interviewed on April 5th and status shows In Process. Also from Vancouver.

Same boat here.
Is there anything we can do about it?

I have called the IRCC number numeours times and the status didn't change - in process (due to a 3rd party security check).

I don't remember the guys name but I was the first person to get called to the further booth for an interview.
