This afternoon I got an invitation for a special oath ceremony on May 24 here in Victoria at the Legislative Assembly. My citizenship test is on May 14, so i have to pass that first, though! The email totally brightened up my boring Monday!
Updated. Congrats!!

Had my ceremony last Tuesday and applied for the passport yesterday.

What a journey it's been. Almost 10 years since I first came to Canada! Thank you everyone for the support along the way. This forum has been an invaluable resource. I do feel like one of the lucky October applicants; all done in just over 6 months.

Became Canadian on May 1,2018 in Vancouver. Total processing time was just under 7 months. My expectation was about 8-10 months esp due to fingerprint request. The ceremony was very moving and there was about 70 new Canadians. The total process is about 2 hours. My estimate is about 140-150 people taking oath twice a week in Vancouver so 300 people a week, which is a lot, but the volume was significant as well. Ecas updated 'Complete' today as well.

Thank you everyone in this forum for all the help. its a very helpful forum. One observation from me is every application is different and the process is detailed. Its hard but patience is key. Proud to be a Canadian Finally :)

Wow. What is up with that?

I will be greatful if someone guide me. My test is on 18th April, is it possible if i bring my new photos and request interviewing officer to replace it because i am not satisified the way i look in old photos?

the photos you submitted in the citizenship application are just for the record. They won't be visible anywhere. When you apply for a Canadian passport you'll be required to submit new photos. Hold that thought until then.

Finally, I have "Decision Made" today....

2.5 months after test.

For record: I had requested urgent processing on 6th April. I received reply on 12th april stating "Your request has been received and forwarded to the local office for review."

My timeline and location are available in excel spreadsheet. Hopefully, now, oath will be soon.

To moderator: I will post this across two more threads that I "watch". Hopefully, you won't see it as spam.

EDIT TO ADD: June 15th date confirmed with CIC through email, will receive the official invite 3-4 weeks prior to event

I received an unusual email today.

Some background: IP since early Feb, applied with an address from a remote Vancouver island location (though I moved to Vancouver more recently)

To summarize, my email says IRCC will be delivering citizenship services on those locations and dates:

Victoria, BC: Fall 2018
 Nanaimo, BC: Fall 2018
 Kelowna, BC: Summer/Fall 2018
 Prince George, BC: Fall 2018
 Whitehorse, YK: Summer/Fall 2018

However, I am given the opportunity to pick a date and come to Surrey or Vancouver and do test/ceremony on the same day

Friday, June 15, 2018
 Friday, July 20, 2018
 Friday, August 17, 2018
 Friday, September 21, 2018

Those dates are for Van, I also got 4 similar dates for Surrey.

I have to email to pick a date (first come first serve), and will receive my invite 3 weeks prior.

Also, no guarantee to do the ceremony as that depends on the test+interview.
