Validity of travel insurance from a foreign country

Hello everyone,

I'd like to invite my parents to come and visit me here in Canada. I am a permanent resident. They already have their visitor's visa. My question relates to the validity of travel insurance bought in their home country Cuba.

Can anyone let me know which institution I should contact to find out whether a Cuban travel insurance is valid in Canada?
