Validity of the police certificate and time to get it done

Can anybody tell me how long the police certificate is valid for the immigration application?

I know it says on the CIC website not older than 3 months at the time you submit your application, but are they really that strict with this?

I would have to get police certificates from several countries through their embassies, and some of them say it would take at least 2 months to get the certificate, so how long does the CIC give you to submit the certificates once they requested them (simplified application)?

Thanks in advance for the info!

I'm from Lithunania and I'm applying through the embassy in Warsaw,Poland.

As far as I know you have to use the regular process when applying through Buffalo, but I'm using the simplified application...

CIC will not accept more than one year old Police certificate. They accepted from your friend because they were only 9 months old. You will need to provide them when they will ask you, so if you attach them with your application in advance, and if your application process takes more than a year, then they will ask you new PCC. You don't need to attach them with your app, you can submit them later.

Using the simplified application process you are not supposed to include all your documents with your initial application, but provide them later on when they request it.
My question is: How much time does CIC give you to provide the PCC when they request it?

I have a query , if i live in Country A for 2 years then move to Country B for 3 years and i am now in country C for the last 4 years. If i have a PCC for Country A and B that is dated 2 years ago , would that be acceptable as long as i give a PCC for country C that is the latest. Since i have been out of Country A and B my clearance from 2 years ago will give the same result as asking for a clearance today. It will only be in country C where i would need to provide up to date info. Any thoughts on this.

I understand your logic, but it totally depend on the IO if he/she want to make any exception - If you go by the book, you need to give PCC from country A, B and C and they must not be older than a year.

Most likely they will ask you to provide new PCC from all of the above. The reason is, a person might have done something in the past that came up now, some criminal act was pending and decision are made now and could be various other reasons.

My suggestion is not to waste any time and get the PCC from A and B again if you are expecting that CIC will ask it soon, do not make any assumptions on your own, this will make your case solid and all documents will be available upon request from CIC.
