Hi guys,

If anyone can please clarify..I would really appreciate your help!!

I have reference letters from my past employers and also current employer all last year around July 2015. Are these letters still valid to be submitted for my PR application? Or do I need to obtain new one for all (especially for the current job)?

Also, my current residence is Canada Alberta. I went to fingerprint agency who runs criminal record checks and I also went to the local police station. The police station told me I don't need fingerprints for the immigration submission. But when i'm reading on the web, I'm getting an idea that I need to have fingerprints done as well as the criminal record check. So, am I supposed to get everything done at the fingerprint agency or getting a criminal record check done by the local police station without the fingerprints is good enough?

I also have Korean criminal record check paper that was issued early last year. Since I will be submitting my PR application in April, do I need to obtain a new one? I haven't been to Korea since 2012.

Thank you so much!

You do not need to get police certificate for Canada unless CIC ask for it and that will be after you submit your application.

you need PCC from any other country where you have lived for more then 6 months.

If you never went back to Korea after you got your pcc then it will stay valid

reference letters never expires

IMO, it would be better if OP refreshes at least only the current job's reference letter. Sure, they can back the old letter up with recent payslips, but a newly refreshed letter would erase any doubt.

Reference Letters from past employers are valid indefinitely. If possible try to get a new letter from your current employer especially if there has been a change in your duties and responsibilities due to promotion, restructuring etc. Even if there has been no change in duties and responsibilities, then also it would be advisable to get a new letter as it is older than 6 months and depending on the case officer, they may or may not ask for the latest letter. If not use the same letter and attach last 3 months' pay slips to show your continuity with your current employer.
