Validity of PCC due to a New Passport

Hi Seniors,

My express entry file is in process and is now at the stage where cic is doing background checks. When I applied on Sept 18th my Indian PCC had my old passport number. Now, I have received my new passport and I am planning to update CIC using CSE about the details of my new passport. I am concerned that will they ask me a new PCC from India having my new passport number or the PCC that they have should be good? The PCC that I submitted was issued in August less than three months ago.

Please provide your expert comments.

That PCC is valid. You won't be asked for a new PCC.

One more thing Asivad can I travel on the visa on my old passport which is valid until august next year? or do i need to get a new visa on my new passport? Thanks in advance.

I would imagine that visas can outlive the passport (and be transferred to the renewed passport) unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Sorry so can I use my visa on old passport and my new passport to travel outside Canada?

Yes, you can travel using visa on old passport. We had Canada visa on old passport and recently travelled from India to Toronto.
