Validity of passport at the time of submission for PR

Hello friends,

I am an indian national based in Japan. I have just submitted my application for canadian PR last week and selected the canadian embassy in phillipines to process my visa apllication(whenever that happens). My question is

My passport is expiring on July 2015 and i have just submitted my application (aug 28th 2014). It is valid for around 8 months. I am planning to renew it after 2 months as currently i will have to shuttle between India and Japan frequently atleast for another 1.5 months.

What i wanted to know is that if my file number comes through after i have renewed my passport. Do i have to inform them..will there be any problem because i got my passport renewed.

Please friends looking forward for your advice as somewhere i read that the passport has to be atleast a year old at the time of submitting the application but couldnt find that same info on the CIC website . I am worried that my application may get rejected if it is true

Dear Mate

Get your passport renewed before submitting this for PPR information. In your case you have at least 06 months from now
Do get renewal as soon as you are free

So you think it is OK to fill the applications with one passport number and then update it if necessary when the actual PPR comes in?

Thanks for your prompt response. I will get my passport renewed in time and inform them whenever the accept my application.
