Validity of Closed Work permit

Does the close work permit gets cancelled once the assignment is over before the stated expiry date mentioned in the closed work permit or the closed work permit is still active even if the employee goes back to his/her country due to the assignment getting over?

Can a closed work permit be cancelled by the employer before the expiry date mentioned in the closed work permit?

Employer cannot cancel a closed WP.
