Hi all ,
I know this is a trivial question , but your help will be much appreciated.

For how long is the PCC issued from India valid to be included in the CEC application (at the time of applying)
For how long is the FBI clearance from USA valid?

Thanks

Every PCC is valid for 1 year.

But somewhere in the CIC site , I have read that , the PCC should be submitted no more than 3 months after at the time of submisssion of application !!

second that.... you should submit your application within 3 months of the issue of PCC....

Yes, it should not me more than 3 months old at the time of submission (or I would say at the time CIC receives the application).

This requirement is there, so that by the time the Visa Officer gets to looking at your application, your PCC is still valid. If it's not, then they'll request for a new one.

They are both true - the PCC cannot be more than 3 months old at the time you submit your application, and CIC considers each PCC to be valid for one year. That means that if it takes more than one year to process your application, CIC might request a new PCC before finalizing...

Hi Guys,

Anybody have tried submitting a PCC more than 3 months old?As I would like to submit all my PCC for the 4 countries Ived been,I overlooked 1 of my PCC and submitted it 3 months old and 15 days.I am now paranoid if they will ask for a new one.

I have a pcc from Dubai/ UAE and its validity is 3 months only (not like most of other countries i.e. 1 year)

So issuance date was 18/2/2014 and application submitted on 25/03/2014.

How do you think CIC reaction would be?

Well, I would think they might ask you to submit another one, once the VO looks at your application.

If by the time the VO looks at the application and it's still valid, they may not request for another one. The whole point of submitting it within 3 months of issuance, is so that the certificate is valid when your file is being analyzed.

CIC decides for itself how long they will consider your PCC to be valid. It is valid for one year, as far as CIC is concerned, regardless of what the issuing authority says.

Hi,
submit the last original PCC you have even if it's older than 3 months. If the CIC need another one later, they will let you know.

I applied for PR in July and had the PcC issued from Pakistan but I didn't have it in canada and was in a hurry to send in application due to my expiring work permit. Thus, I sent following docs with my file:
1) original Canadian PCC and finger prints issued a month before app was filed
2) original Pakistani PCC from nov 2011. (I have been in canada since December 2011)
3) color scanned copy of new PCC issued few days before I filed my app)

Now, even tho I didn't send it with my file.. And i have my AOR now.. Should I still send this same one issued in July 2014.. As I had sent a letter with my application stating I have new PCC but hvnt received physical copy in canada thus will be providing later but sent a scanned color copy with the application .. Would I have to get a new PCC as its now more than 3 months old.. Or should I send the same one since it was issued less than three months before filing my application?
