If you're applying online no need for a signature. you only need to validate form 5257

I'm preparing an application for my daughter under 18 should i have to sign it ? Because there is a statement saying that" signature of applicant or parent/legal guardian's for a person under 18 years of age"

You are better off signing PDF using Adobe and validate the application at the same time. There is no harm.
