Validate IMM1344 - without knowing sponsor's ex husband's birthday

Hello all

My wife has absolutely zero recollection of her ex husband's birthday. It ended over 20 years ago and she has no recollection of a day, month or year. On the other form that it asks for it IMM5532 i have just manually written 'Unknown' and explained why in a separate sheet. But i have to validate IMM1344 and it generates barcodes, so it won't let me just leave blank.

Any advice as to how to progress with this would be appreciated. I am thinking of just putting in an obviously incorrect date like 1900-01-01 and then manually writing next to it to see the additional info page, then try to explain why she can't remember.

I have pushed and pushed my wife on this, but she has no documentation, doesn't have the marriage certificate, doesn't say it on the divorce certificate and so there is just nowhere and she has no contact with him.

I believe the instructions note that if a birthday or parts of a birthday are unknown to fill the banks in with '*'.

Not sure if the form will let you do that and/or if it will validate by doing that.

I think you need one for each digit? So if they want YYYY-MM-DD and you don't know any of it then you'd need to put ****-**-**

I don't know if it's a big deal to not know/report a birthday but maybe you want to add a small letter of explanation to explain why you don't know the date.
