I'm having an issue where not only do the dates overlap, but some dates are quite long. My husband (who is the principal applicant) had a few jobs that overlapped with school or other jobs, and we are hesitant to remove any.

Here's my dates
2018 04 - ongoing (not the place I have an issue, surprise!) Homemaker
2017 10 - 2018 04 Unemployed
2017 05 - 2017 10 Employed
2016 05 - 2017 05 Employed
2015 04 - 2016 05 Unemployed This Is the Year I'm getting a red box on
2011 05 - 2015 04 Employed
2014 01 - 2014 03 Student
2011 05 - 2012 08 Student
2011 10 - 2012 01 Employed
2009 12 - 2011 10 Employed
2010 03 - 2010 10 Employed

what's the deal?

That form does NOT like overlapping dates. You have to put overlapping dates on a separate sheet of paper so it will validate.

I agree with the comment above, write an explanation or annex on a separate sheet. The main thing is not to lie! This can be expensive. with good intentions you write beautiful dates, but God forbid the truth comes up and you cannot explain that you had good goals.

THANK YOU! This solution worked! I made a spreadsheet, in the same format as their form, and added my dates the way I had in their form. It worked 100% beautifully!!
