valid PR but expiring passport

My PR card is valid but my passport is expiring in 5 months. I don't have time to renew my passport and I was wondering if the expiry date of my passport can cause any problem?

You will need a passport to travel, yes.

But you can travel with your existing one before it expires and then renew in Canada.

It won't matter that it's short dated as long as not past the expiry date.

you only need 1 day valid when you entre to Canada with your valid PR Card.
