Hello,

I am a current PGWP holder with expiry in September 2020. However my TRV was expired. I visited London for my sister’s graduation and upon getting to the airport to return back to Canada, I was told I will have to apply for a new TRV, in order to return back.

I went to the VFS office in London and applied for a new TRV and submitted biometrics, on July 24th. The agent who attended to me advised she will mark it as an urgent application.

The current tracking of application is ‘being processed at the Canada Visa Office - London,’ and I haven’t received any correspondence from VFS. I’m worried about returning to work, as I am scheduled back on the July 31st. Has anyone had an urgent visa application experience?

worrying is pointless really. the only thing you can do is to actually wait

and anyway why didnt you check the expiry date of your trv in the first place especially before you LEFT???
It was a silly mistake on my end. I recently extended my PGWP as it was issued till passport expiry. I had to wait for that to be approved before applying for a UK visa. The approval and application for visa was completed late June and late July. I don’t know how common this issue it but three of us were stopped from boarding the flight and directed to the embassy for the same issue. My main worry is a potential delay, which will affect my work.

There is really no express processing for canadian visa except medical emergencies and such, so not sure what vfs was talking about.

You might be better off to go to your home country and wait for it it could take months.

Thanks for the input. It wasn’t an express processing. VFS agent just mentioned she will indicate the application as an emergency. In terms of it going to my home country, processing time online will be the same. Quick question, how does the Canada plus process work and is it usually faster?

Sure it could take the same time I was more considering things like cost of staying in London & your UK visa if you need one.
