Valid Closed Work Permit + Valid Visa - No Longer Working - Traveling

Hi,

I came to Canada as an International Student and after graduation I was given an open work permit for 3 years. Before that permit expired I got a new closed work permit through my employer on July 2011. This permit has an expiration date of July 2013. I also have a work visa with that expiration date. I am no longer working for that employer but I wish to go visit my family for Christmas and New years and then come back to Canada at the end of January 2013. I just want to make sure that I can re-enter with that visa and work permit with no problems. Can someone please confirm? I am not planning to get a new work permit as I applied for permanent residence and I am just waiting for that to be ready.

you can re-enter as long as you have a valid TRV and valid work permit even if you are not working now

Thank you Ismail, I did call Immigration this morning and spoke to two different agents. They both told me that it will all depend on the officer at the border if he will allow me or not. :S Have you have experience with this or are you sure I can come in? I really don't want to risk it!
A couple of months back I called like 4 times and they told me I shouldn't have any problems so now I am very confused.

i am not sure and as a rule nothing for sure with VO.

if you can stay some time .. i recommend that
