Vacation Trip after applying for citizenship - LEON AND OTHERS

Does anyone know how a short vacation trip outside Canada ( Europe ) after applying for citizenship will effect your application?

Will it trigger a RQ? will it create further delays? When CIC requests CBSA for entries, do they request all the entries for the applicant or only those 4 years used in the citizenship residence calculation?

I have home here in Canada and well settled. But i wanna travel with my girl friend for vacation to europe for 10 days.

Now if I have to wait till I receive the oath so as not to trigger delays in my applications, that will be sad. cant wait more 2 years or so just for a vacation.

Any thoughts? Pleasee ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It should be no problem what so ever i traveled twice since my application. Once for 3 weeks and other for 7 weeks. Both times i advised CIC. My application was processed without a problem. awaiting on oath ceremony

You don't have to inform them its not compulsory....I did it just to be on the safer side thinking what if they send me any request (further documentation or notice to appear for a test etc etc)....The 1st vacation i just called at CIC call center and they made a note in their system however when i called them at the time of my 2ND vacation i was advised that my file was transferred to my local office so i have to advise them via fax which i did....the fax number was provided to me by CIC agent...make sure in your fax you include your file#, client id#, your full name, D.O.B, address, advise them of your traveling dates and also fax a copy of your itinerary.

There is no need to be paranoid dude...altogether i took 10 weeks vacation and nothing was effected in my application.

Relax.....by worrying too much you are giving them too much power to mess with your happiness ! Go enjoy your vacation...we are also human beings (and in some cases very qualified professionals) like the CIC folks who look at our cases and need vacations just like they do !

Yeah I know I am thinking too much, but I found thinking too much is better than waiting too much ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am qualified professional and I cant tell you how many business meetings, employment promotions i am missing by not being a Canadian.

Companies dont like to spend time and money on getting you a visa to attend business meetings and conferences and thats effecting my growth in my company.

So i rather sit tight and not take any vacation and become Canadian first. At least i should explore whole of Canada before vacationing else where lol

Taking Vacation should and will not affect your Citizenship application in routine cases. An Average worker in Canada gets Vacation between 4-8 weeks in 1 given year. If you have established strong ties, i.e., you have a job (Full Time, Contract) and take vacation within this time range, it should not affect your application. But if there is an unusual activity, i.e. taking Vacation of 6 months due to reason (except STD, or any other valid reason, not mentioned in your application) which are non common, may trigger further investigation in form of an RQ. Remember, data/information, what ever you mention to CIC/Canadian has and should be true and consistent.

I know they have issued RQ to people who didn't even travel once out of Canada, but I am sure there was a reason which triggered it.

By you not traveling WILL NOT expedite anything and it has NO effect on the process of your application, as other members had indicated there had been several cases where applicants never stepped out of Canada but they still got RQ.

When do they usually request those from CBSA? Since they dont record departures, I am afraid they might think I was out of canada for longer time when i arrive.
