Hello All -

Question 1) Can I use P.O. Box as my mailing address in the CIC Citizenship application?
The residential address is a shared apartment and multiple people have access to the mailbox.
Just for peace of mind and for the safety of the mails, would prefer to use a separate, secure P.O. Box (from Canada Post) as my mailing address.
Please advise if its okay or if there can be potential problems with this approach?

Question 2) Does CIC also uploads the same mail to our online account or email it to our email address?

1. You should never use a PO Box address. It should be a residential address where you actually live. As long as you name is on mail/letter, it should be fine.
2. If you provide an email address in your application, cic will mostly contact you via email.

I do not think it has to be an address where you live. Remember you have to fill two addresses ( residential and mailing ) in your application form.
You can still use a different address as a mailing address to receive your mail if you do not want to use your residential address as a mailing address. That option is in the application so you are free to choose where you want IRCC to mail you, in my opinion.

I used US po box for PR application and Canada PO box for PR card. No issues in receiving documents in both cases.
Now i applied for citizenship in Feb mentioning Canada Po box as communication address, awaiting receipt.
