Did you use AVR while having a visa interview scheduled?

I am seeing conflicting information. But a couple of lawyers here say it is not available if you have scheduled an interview which makes sense to me because you have now 'applied' for a visa.

It might be different at different borders. But during the pandemic and even now this is being allowed. You can use AVR having an appointment scheduled. I have been doing this and infact many people in this forum have been doing this.
