Using a Representative to file my Permanent Resident

Hi,

Need help !! I used a representative to file for my Express Entry (Canadian Experience Class), received my ITA and now we have to apply.

First off, I did not get an email stating that I received an update for my file, even though on my ITA it states my email ( He said I am using my portal to apply that's why you did not receive any update) Is it actually true or is he just not willing to give me the access and keeping me in a limb?

Secondly, when he'll apply, how will I be notified if there is an update? or how my I check my profile status?

Finally, at this stage where we received the ITA is there any way I can get access and complete the application?

Is your representative abroad or in Canada?

The agent will have linked your application to their portal, and they will file the application on your behalf (that's the whole point of applying through a representative). They will verify all your docs/request more docs from you to strengthen your application and will never fully submit without your approval.

As far as updates, unfortunately you won't be able to check it yourself. If there is any update, your representative will notify you immediately and/or periodically, you can ask them the status of your application.

You should avoid representatives at all cost... you know it quite easy to just read online, everything you need to know can be found on IRCC's webpage.

There is no need to pay someone to fill the forms for you... you are giving to much power and control to this people.

Do you think this can be done without the help of a representative right? i mean, is there any major chance of missing something? like is there something they can do that we cant do? im gonna apply for cec but i just dont want to miss any particular document which is why thinking of proceeding with my rep but its so expensive and everything is on the website. what do you suggest?

I already suggested, avoid them.

To me is just wasting money. All the information you need is out there in their webpage, they even have several guides to help you fill the forms and everything.

Why waste a couple thousands to pay someone to fill a few forms for you?

All the paperwork sucha as birth certificates, letters of employment, etc, have to be obtained by you anyway?

There is literally no question you cannot answer by just googling it or doing some reading.

I think representatives are just for lazy, or maybe people who are too busy to put any time into understanding how the process works and what is required.
