Hi guys,

I'm about to apply for my PR under the CEC class (1 year work in CA with work permit, police cert, english test, ..... all done) and have a question about the form IM_0008. Field 3 under personal details asks for the UCI number and I'm not sure what to do.....

I have a UCI number from a 2 year old Skilled Worker application which was denied because my occupation didn't fit the NOC number under which I applied.

Do I have to use this UCI number for my new application under CEC or will I be issued a new UCI number?

I was searching the forum and found similar questions, but no answer for this one!

Cheers,
tr001

Normally your UCI should not change.
I've been using the same UCI since I came to Canada almost 10 years ago. It has a record of you ever since you entered Canada.
So yeah it shouldn't change unless of course you have multiple UCIs'.

That IS your UCI number, use that.
IF you don't use it, and keep that box blank, CIC is not going to be angry or upset :) they are just going to find it from the system (since they know you worked in Canada). But save yourself some delay in your application, and use your UCI.

Leave it blank if you're not sure.
Leaving it blank is an absolute waste of time. Your UCI number is in the system and will be referenced by CIC, regardless of whether or not you put it in the form. Unless you just dont know the number, I dont see the point. There is no way going around it. UCI is a unique identifier for each client and does not change. Obviously, no one can tell you what to do and you know what's best for you....but leaving it out doesn't make it any more likely that CIC wont see your entire record. Just sayin...

There's cases in this forum where people got assigned different UCIs. And since your birthdate and name is provided
in the form, it'll take the VO a few minutes to figure out the right UCI. So I don't see how one would waste time by not filling it out.

How? Cuz you are making the VO search the system for it, instead of noting it up front. And lets assume for but a moment that this person gets a new UCI....how is that going to change the fact that their application was already rejected once? It will be in the system for VOs to reference, and the forms ask you whether you have been denied before....so disclosure is not gonna factor in.

Listen mate, I dont want this to turn into a prolonged discussion over nothing....my point was that I have applied for different categories, and my UCI remained the same throughout.

IMM5569E question 6, subsection d) been refused refugee status, and immigrant or permanent resident visa...etc. Therefore, the fact that your are disclosing your rejection here makes the UCI discussion a moot point.

Besides, using an older UCI that is associated with a rejection will have no adverse affects on your current application. All CIC requests is that you disclose any pertinent information. Consideration will be given to the newly submitted documents!!

This may sound crazy to you, but aren't forums meant to be a place for discussions?
I have applied for three work permits, and NEVER mentioned my UCI in application forms, and I never had any issues with it.
I also never told someone to disclose rejections or lie in application forms, mate.

Having said all that, filling out the UCI field or not is not gonna have an affect on the application process. And what's
waiting an addition day or two in an application process taking 12 months? Not a whole lot if you ask me.

If you know your UCI, put it in the field. Like CEC2013 said, the UCI usually never changes.
