Has anyone used B1/B2 visa to transit in USA to fly to Canada instead of using the official C1 visa?

On the website it states B1/B2 may also be used for transit. I just like to confirm whether there are ppl who have successfully done that.

Many thanks!

It is fine, I have done it on a B1/B2.

C1 visas allow for stays up to 29 days, B1/B2 up to 6 months.

It is weird you’d rather believe random Internet strangers than the actual DoS website. (But I have honestly done so.)

A follow up question pls: how long is enough for the layover? If it is only 1 hr 8 mins is it enough to clear all the immigration process (get in USA and then get out again to the final destination) ? Thank you.

I have no idea. My transit was 2 days so I left the airport.
