hello everyone,
I am an international student in Canada. My bf is just completed masters in biomedical engineering. He wants to be with me here. How could he get a work permit? What is the fastest way to be here? As I am a student here so can I sponsor him? One year is still remaining for my study completion. We are unmarried. Please help me out.
Thank you

You can only sponsor him if the two of you are either married or common law (common law means you have lived together for a minimum of one full year).

To qualify for a work permit, he will first need to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer him a full time job and that employer will then have to obtain an approved LMIA.

If you're an int'l student in Canada, your bf can apply for open work permit but you'll have to demonstrate your common-law relationship...which is very very hard since you guys don't live together...

The fastest way for him to come is a visitor visa (I guess you know it already).

And since you are not a PR, you can't sponsor him to apply for PR.

If he wants to work here, he has to get an offer than apply for PNP or LMIA.
