Does anyone travelled to US with Single entry visa via road while on Bridging Open Work Permit?

Please reply what documents were required at the time of entry back in Canada?

Thanks in advance

I have traveled to the US many times while on Post Graduation Work Permit. You are on Bridging Open Work Permit, however, it is the same scenario.

All you have to do is have your passport, a copy of your AOR and your permit documents with you. If you're currently employed, then have a copy of a recent employment letter issued by your HR Department also.

That should be enough and you should not have any issues.

I've travelled while on BOWP.

You should at least have your passport, visa (if you require one), and work permit.

AOR doesn't serve any purpose for getting through a point of entry.

I'm struggling to think of why an employment letter would be necessary.

He can enter back to Canada if:

- he only visited the US in that trip, and
- the travel occurs during the validity of that VISA (usually 6 months)

Multiple entry visa is only needed when travelling out of Canada and the USA.

The purpose of having your AOR and employment letter is only for supplementary reasons. They are not main documents. However, it helps to have them just in case - as we all know, immigration will never be down to a science. It always depends on the official.

Appreciate all replies

Let me give little more description, I had traveled to US in the past while on PGWP. Currently I am on valid BOWP and has US Visa. I dont' have any Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). Is that required?

@LPS: visa (if you require one)....Is this Temporary resident visa (TRV) or US VISA

@flapmyp: according to the link you shared, I must have a valid visitor record, work permit, study permit, or temporary resident permit (authorizing re-entry)

(Do I qualify to re-enter with Bridging open work permit?)

Thank you again

We're still talking about the documents required to enter Canada, right?

You can not enter Canada OR USA without a Visa.

Your permit allows you to work in Canada, but it is not proper documentation to enter Canada.

I have simple question...Does travelling to US with BOWP differ from travelling on PGWP?

@LPS: Since you mentioned that you travelled on BOWP...at time of your entry back to canada, what documents you were asked for?

I apologize if I am confusing anyone:)

Passport and work permit. I don't need a visa.

You've already entered Canada on a PGWP. The same documents will be asked of you when entering on a BOWP.

It does not matter if you're on PGWP or BOWP, Canadian TRV is required when attempting to enter Canada.

A visa is ALWAYS required for entry. I do not know how you entered without a visa, but it is definitely not possible without it.

Only a citizen of Canada/Usa or permanent resident can enter without a Visa.

I am talking in assumption that the person who is asking the question is NOT from one of those countries. Sense the tone of his question.
