I (and a few other Indian nationals in the US) sent PPs to Ottawa. Got them back without any issues. I was on the fence about doing it but followed the advice of others who had their PPR before me and said they'd faced no problems. FedEx seems to work best.

yes Deccan ,, you took right decision unlike me . its been a week i requested for VO change and it hasn't happened yet.
I request others NOT to follow me .

Others who have gone through the same can provide more details: You should be alright. Just apply with US address and when you move back to your home country, you just need to change your address by raising a CSE. This is what Im planning to do for my spouse and kid who are returning in a few days to join me in US. Best of luck.

Thanks a lot! I feel better now.

Hi Maddy ,

How are you ? Hope u r next guy from US to get PPR . Don't do the same mistake as i did .. Just goahead and send the PP to Canada .
Thanks Raj. I really hope Im close. But Im thinking in another 6 to 8 weeks. Ill remember to send the PP to Ottawa :D. But dont worry. Im sure you are alright. Even if they don't respond soon, you can always overnight your pp to Ottawa.

I'm in the same situation. AOR Feb 22 with my current US address and I have to leave the US by July. As maddy mentioned above, I'm planning on raising a CSE when I move.

Yes, seems like raising a CSE might solve the problem.

Hang in there sraj07. Change to the local VO takes around 2 weeks (at least) from what I've observed.

Hi guys,

I also reside in the US, I was on a L2 visa but now have a F1 status. I just received my ITA on February 24th and I am still collecting documents to submit e-APR. We applied for FBI PCC in December 2015, so we hope to receive it in a few weeks if our fingerprint goes through. It has been refused once before, we have sent in another batch in March, just in case they are rejected. So I would like hear from FBI, before I submit my application. It's good to know the timeline for US resident is similar, that helps with the anxiety a little.

Good luck to everyone waiting....

It is not a mistake to change visa office. I applied to change visa office to NYC through e-mail on February 22nd. I received the new ppr from NYC on March 1st. So just 8 days - less than 6 working days.

I sent my passport with USPS on March 2nd. The only problem here is USPS since you have to use them. It took them forever to send the express mail but still, the consulate received it on March 5th, Saturday. On March 8th, I got the notification in MyCiC saying my application is approved and on March 9th I had my passports in my mailbox.

Total of 16 days, 3 of which is lost because of USPS.

gilean ,

happy for you . you are lucky .

But for me it took 10 days for just changing to lvo ... and for few others it is 20 days and still no change has happened ... so my point is why to take this risk ... if we send pp to Canada , we will get in 2 weeks hassle free.,
