I combed through the thread and saw that there was no thread dedicated to US residents and I thought I would start this one.
Please post information, questions and share your timeline....
Plus your words of encouragement for the waiting game. GL everyone.

Thank you both for sharing. I'm an American, been in the EE pool for about 7 months now, and still waiting for my ITA. It's great to have these to reference if/when it finally comes!

Thanks for taking the initiative.. There were a couple of other threads for US residents to share their timelines but those never had real traction... Since US residents aren't that many the threads usually die silently hehe :D.... Ur timeline suggests 4.5 months to PPR, I saw another US timeline that was 2.5 months and a third one that was exactly 4 months... Seems that the reasonable average is between 3 and 4 months... I'm an August 10 AOR, and my medical passed on August 19th.. No action since then... Perhaps end of November early December... 4 total applicants (self, spouse and 2 kids), 462 score and 1123 NOC code... Good luck everyone and congrats drpilot

Just out of curiosity, I thought US was better than Canada when it came to ones professional life no? More opportunities, better pay and less taxes? But then again, they definitely are not that open to immigration as Canada is. Gotta go find a girl there if anything haha

Thanks for this thread. I am also residing in USA , but not a US citizen . I am from india .
I heard the application moves slow for US residents compared to other countries .Is that true ?
2 ppl applied under FSW from india , got ppr in 3 weeks .

I submitted my application on 09-Oct . Two other people submitted after me from india , got their Med Passed . But I am still in starting place only .

I too am a citizen but I also reside in USA.. What about you? Were you residing in another country when you applied?

For many fields, there are indeed more opportunities, better pay, and less taxes.

Then again, you don't have to worry about losing your job and being unable to afford insurance, and you are way less likely to get shot by the police.

It depends on what you value.

Went up to Canada as a student. Turns out to have been unnecessary - my wife had enough EE points on her own. The LMIA I got ended up being unnecessary as well.

Do you all know if Canada will allow one to get PR if the person is applying from the US but is out of status in the US?

If you are out of status in US, it means you are not residing legally in US. For Canadian PR, applicant must be having a valid/legal status in US. Otherwise they will reject your application and may ask to apply again from your country of citizenship.
