Thanks mets for the update. My PA's was sent on May 17th and it's being mailed to Canada. I imagine we should see it next week. Will update once received to help with others' timelines.

Hi all,

My husbands application was delivered to the FBI on June 3rd. This past Monday he received a voicemail from them. When he called back, the gentleman who answered the phone said he didn't know why they called, but everything seemed in order. ;D

However, he also added that if it hadn't been at least 11 weeks since they received an application, you can be sure they haven't started processing it yet.

Not exactly big news, I know, but every tidbit of information is good to have.

Mine was received by CJIS on July 6th. When I called, I was told they are processing for May 24th applicants. Long wait times !! . I took fingerprint with livescan. Has anyone taken that, will that be reliable and not get rejected ?

As long as the address is correct (1000 Custer Hollow Road Clarksburg) , I don't think you need to worry. There might be some other building which receives the delivery especially if they are on a very big campus.

To confirm , you can go to USPS and show them the receipt and ask them if they delivered to the correct address. USPS folks are nice and I am sure they will help you out.

Prints mailed May 17. Received clearance yesterday (Aug. 16).

Thank you for the update. What method you used for fingerprint ? Ink or LiveScan ? Did you apply for clearance as family ?

It's just me alone, no family. I went to a fingerprint place and used the FBI document page and ink as per instructions.

On this website it says "Allow 12-14 weeks for processing"

https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

We mailed ours off early April and did not get it back until late July. Also, received a letter stating that we were missing information. Called them the next day and they confirmed that everything was there I assume it was just a mistake, but they shipped it once all was confirmed.

Good Luck to all

For what it's worth 2 weeks ago I used myfbireport.com I mailed them my prints that I did same-day at a local sheriff's office overnight and paid for overnight shipping return. They processed them same day and mailed my FBI clearance same-day overnight....total process was 48 hours!!! Don't wait for the FBI backlog!

is this one of the CIC approved channelers on the website? if it is, that's great! if not, don't be surprised if the report you get is not considered valid by CIC. even if it "looks the same", CIC has a way of knowing if it's from the FBI directly or from a 3rd party channeler - and they will only allow reports from specific channelers. if this is an approved channeler, then there shouldn't be an issue. if it's not, i'd recommend getting a back up in case the one you have gets rejected from CIC.

National Background Check is actually the same company and is an approved Channeler.

This is thru approved channelers , only applicable for US citizens or green card holders. Others have to take the long route.
