HI GUYS!

Inland applicant here.
I received a letter requesting US police clearance. In that letter it says I must submit it withing 60 days of receiving it!
But reading this forum and processing timelines, it is said that it can take waaay longer than that. What should I do about it?
Any advice? :o

Apply for your FBI asap. Before you pass all the requirements to the FBI, make sure you have a photocopy of it. then send it first, Keep the photocopy. Once your FBI is already received based on the tracking number, Send all the photocopy to the CIC including the receipt from the courier and the tracking number stating it's already received by the FBI, send the email copy that you received from them as well plus explanation letter to the CIC immigration officer that you already sent the FBI clearance and it will take around 3 months or more before you get it, advise them once you have it, you will send it right away.

Thanks a lot!!
Anything specific I should put in explanation letter? Like, my case number or anything? Or just type "dear immigration officer blah blah it will take forever thanks for understanding"?

Include your full name application number in the explanation letter. DOB

So I was reading the letter they sent me...It says "You must only send one submission in response to this request", And has vegreville address.
But you saying its okay to send twice? First, the explanation letter, and than the certificate itself? Wont that be a problem/confusion for them since they only advice to respond once?

That's what they did, check Previous thread. That's the only way you can notify the CIC in 30 days explaining that your FBI clearance is in process by showing proof and explanation letter. It's up to you. More than 3 months before you get your FBI CC

Should I also request to process my application without the certificate?
I found one letter example, and thats what the guy did: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/letter-of-explanation-for-background-check-t390250.0.html;msg4853064#msg4853064

But I couldnt really find any other examples :-X

The CIC wants your FBI certificate, you must submit that in 30 days. Theres no way you can submit that in 30 days because the processing times for the FBI clearance is up to 3 months or more.

Looks like we won't be needing the FBI clearance after all! It probably will arrive in 3 more weeks or so. We got our landing appointment letter a week ago and land next week. Wooo!

Note, we submitted for an FBI cert. as a 'just in case' scenario, because the USA visit was just over 10 years before PR application date, and visit time was just under 6 months. We thought there was a chance they would request it so ordered it just in case.

I will update when it arrives to keep the timeline data going.

So i sent my prints today through purolator.
Hope the FBI accepts them cause they were kinda messy... :o
Gonna wait for it to be delivered and than will send the copies to CIC.
Hope it will be okay! :-X

We did land inland on Monday so we're done! It's good we didn't end up needing this certificate, especially w/ the looming Canada Post strike that most probably will delay delivery of these.

We had 3 sets of prints done and sent them all with a note that the extras are just in case there is difficulty reading them. You should be okay though if they were done by an experienced fingerprinter. We did them at a metro police station.

Hi I am Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife a US PR. We submitted the application on June 27 and according to the tracker they received it on June 29. My concern is we didn't submit the FBI clearance with it but instead we submit a washington state police clearance since my wife is from Seattle. However, we submitted along with the application an explanation why we haven't include the FBI clearance. Its been 2months now since we request for the FBI clearance and we just received it today. Can I just submit the FBI clearance by itself to CPC-Mississauga? Or just wait for their instructions? What are the chances that they will give back my applications since we didn't include the FBI clearance.
Thank you for anyone who can give me any idea or suggestions on what I need to do with this matter.

Has anyone called the FBI recently to see what day they are currently working on? I would do this myself but I'm living in Canada with no way to call internationally. I'd appreciate if anyone could post an update!

Does your phone plan allow you to call to the US at all? You could buy a cheap calling card. I was able to call them from Canada without any issues.

Actually, my partner and I don't have phones at all. So I would need to borrow someone else's phone, and that's the real problem. lol. We've been planning to get a phone plan for months, but we don't wanna jump the gun on things before I receive PR. Thanks for the reply!
