Would it be silly to go out and get fingerprinted again and send in another request just in case it somehow got lost in the mail? It's not really that much money. When does CIC send in that generic form asking for police certificates? Shortly after SA or longer down the line? If I send in one today, I could maybe make it within the 60 days after the request.

Or I don't know if that's just my anxiety talking. :P

I dunno. I mean, if they still haven't found it in awhile you'll have to, right? At what point will you have to anyway?

If they don't find it by the end of next week, then I'd probably have to assume something happened. I'm just gonna go today and get it done again just in case. That $50 will be worth the peace of mind that at least I have another app in the queue if something happened.

Ah man your in the same position as me .... i feel like just sending them another print !
i have all my documents im just waiting for the fbi clearance so i can send my application and apparently its not a good idea to send it without it ....urgh

So is it a bad idea to send the applcation in without the fbi report?
I was thinking then once i have the report i can send it in to cic once requested ?

A lot of us send it without. CIC is used to it.

Not a bad idea at all. It's exactly what I did.

What i was told from a reputable source is that when you send it without the FBI clearance , they will approve your Sponsor application but your applicant application will be put at the back of the piles . This will only delay the process because once you send them the FBI clearance they will not view it until they get back to your application.

Also...what do we gain from submitting it without an FBI clearance ? nothing really, its an incomplete application and it will just sit there.

Do we know this to be statistically true? That the applications of people who waited to send FBI take longer?

My application didn't seem to suffer any additional delays at all. Your application will likely just be sitting there for months either way. Ottawa received my app on April 4th or so and the FBI report within a few days after that. My application was still not touched again until September. Mississauga is the one who approves the sponsor portion and they have nothing to do with applicant approval at all.

If you wait to send in your application and wait until your FBI clearance comes in the mail, that's a guaranteed delay of getting your PR too. And it's not even in the system at all.

I'm still not sure what to do when I get my FBI. Like, if it comes before SA, after SA, etc.

Just called again, still processing Sept 22nd.

Wow !
I had a quick question and thank God I found this thread but CIC recently asked for me to submit FBI Certs. to the VO my paperwork is being processed, and as soon as I received the email I did them the very next day but my question is ... are they really taking 3-4 months to get them back ?

I sent mine on DEC.28.2015 so does that mean I wont be getting them until end of march ?
Any Idea ?
Also they said not to send any of the requirements until I can send everything together ....
My worry is that I wont have the FBI certs within 180 that CIC gave me....

I hope it'll be sooner.

Probably, in two days I will hit 4 months since I sent it and they haven't even opened or begun doing mine. You'll probably get them early April. Unless they somehow hire more staff and get rid of the backlog. It really sucks right now, I feel ya.

So we just got our FBI. We don't have SA yet but we have AoR (and so a UCI # to reference). So we are going to both send a scanned version using their contact web form and then send the original via courier the office where our docs are presently sitting (Mississauga right now). If we had SA and then got the FBI we'd send it to whatever office they transferred our application.
