Hello everyone,

We need some help on US police cert. This is something I done before, and we are trying to do the same for my wife. However, on the FBI site, it states:

Note: Due to upcoming changes in processing, effective October 12, 2013, the FBI will no longer be accepting return self-addressed stamped envelopes with Departmental Order requests. Envelopes received postmarked after this date will be destroyed. Thank you for your patience as we try to streamline our processes to improve our service to you.

It doesn't say how else we would have it sent back to us. Obviously, no one can wait for the standard mail service which takes weeks. What we like to know is do we still send a prepaid envelope with return address now? Say if we would like to do it through Fedex.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't think they will FedEx it back to you, they will send the Police Check back to you via regular mail on their own expense, wherever you specify the address as. (at least, they mailed ours back to us in Canada with a SASE).

Don't think we had a choice when we submitted out FBI request before the new change. It was couriered to them so I can track it arriving there. After that, it took 4 weeks for them to send it back by regular mail.

thanks for the respond.

4 weeks is not too bad i think. i mean the CIC states it could take 16 to 18 weeks.

I remember reading that on CIC website regarding FBI clearance. Wouldn't rely on CIC's report on FBI delivery time. Go check the actual FBI website and they have more realistic timelines of 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks.

Ours came in about 6 weeks later...this was back in January of this year.
